Windshield replacement in Dallas

New glass, set properly, in the driveway where you parked

We identify the exact windshield your VIN calls for, prep the frame the way the adhesive manufacturer specifies, and give you a real safe drive away time before we leave. Anywhere in Dallas, seven days a week.

Why quotes differ

Three questions decide what a windshield costs

Two shops can quote the same car and land far apart. It is almost never dishonesty. It is a different answer to these three things, and you should get all three answered before you agree to anything.

01

Which glass goes in

Original equipment carries the manufacturer's badge. Original equipment equivalent comes off the same line without it. Aftermarket is a different manufacturer entirely. Three price points, three standards of fit and optical clarity. We tell you which one you are getting.

02

What is built into it

Rain sensors, humidity sensors, acoustic interlayers, heated wiper park areas, heads up display film, antenna elements, condensation sensors. Every one changes the part number. A base trim and a loaded trim of the same model are not the same job.

03

Whether a camera moves

If your car has lane keep or automatic braking, the camera looks through the glass and has to be recalibrated once the glass moves. A quote that leaves that out is not cheaper, it is incomplete. Ours says so up front.

Where installs go wrong

The part nobody sees is the part that fails

A windshield is not trim. It is bonded structure. It helps hold the roof up in a rollover and it is the backstop the passenger airbag inflates against. All of that depends on the bond, and the bond depends on preparation that takes place before the new glass ever comes off the van.

Cutting corners here does not show up on the day. It shows up in year two as a whistle at highway speed, a damp headliner after a storm, or a crack that starts at the edge for no apparent reason.

  • 01The old urethane is cut back to a thin, even bed rather than scraped down to bare metal
  • 02Any scratch through to metal gets primed, because bare steel under urethane is where rust starts
  • 03The glass is primed on the frit band, the black ceramic border that protects the adhesive from sunlight
  • 04A fresh bead is laid in one continuous pass, because a joined bead is a leak waiting to happen
  • 05You get a safe drive away time based on the adhesive and the day's temperature and humidity, not a guess

On the day

Ninety minutes, and you never leave the building

Give us a vehicle that will sit still for about two hours and somewhere out of direct rain. A driveway, an office lot, a job site. That is the whole requirement.

01

We arrive with the right glass

Confirmed against your VIN before the van loads, so there is no second appointment because the part was wrong.

02

The car gets covered

Dash, seats and cowl are protected, trim and wipers come off carefully rather than being levered.

03

Out, prep, in

Old glass is cut out, the frame is trimmed and primed, fresh urethane goes down and the new glass is set.

04

Cure, then keys

Retention tape stays on for the first day, and you get the drive away time and the do not do list in writing.

The first forty eight hours

What to do once we drive off

Urethane keeps curing after you get the keys back. None of this is difficult, it just decides whether the bond ends up at full strength.

Leave the tape on

The retention tape is holding trim and moulding in position while the adhesive sets. One day is usually enough.

Crack a window

Leave a window slightly open for the first day. Slamming a door into a sealed cabin puts a pressure spike straight into fresh urethane.

Skip the car wash

No high pressure washing for two days. Rain is fine, a jet wash aimed at the edge of the glass is not.

Then forget about it

After that it is a windshield. If anything ever whistles, leaks or cracks from the edge, the workmanship warranty covers it for as long as you own the vehicle.

Before you book

The questions that come up on nearly every call

If yours is not here, ring and ask. We would rather spend five minutes on the phone than send a van to a job that was never the right call.

Can this be repaired instead?

Often, and it is cheaper for you. If the damage fits under a quarter, sits away from the edges and is not in your line of sight, start with chip and crack repair instead.

Will insurance cover it?

Glass is a comprehensive claim in Texas, and your deductible applies unless you bought a glass endorsement. We will tell you plainly when filing is not worth it against your deductible.

Does my car need calibration?

If it has lane keep assist, adaptive cruise or automatic emergency braking, yes. That is covered on the recalibration page, and it is quoted as part of the job rather than sprung on you later.

What if it rains that day?

If there is nowhere dry to work, we move the appointment. Bonding glass in the wet is how you get a leak, and we would rather reschedule than warranty a bad install.

Do you handle other glass?

Door windows, quarter glass and back glass all get replaced too, including vacuuming out the thousands of tempered fragments. See auto glass repair.

Can you do our company vehicles?

Yes, at your yard and scheduled around routes rather than ours. Details on the fleet and commercial page.

Ready when you are

Send the year, make, model and a photo

That is usually enough to identify the exact glass, quote it properly, and tell you whether a camera has to be recalibrated. No deposit, no obligation.
